This was a big year, Harold Bloom insisted on writing a catalog essay on the work.
David Shapiro wrote an essay in 1989 and we sent it to him at Yale, as we had been discussing him . Unknown to us he was teaching at NYU. He was right around the corner. He visited the gallery and stayed for an hour.
There are some amazing moments in the catalog.
That summer the essay was reprinted in Arts Magazine, with Dominant Blank on the cover.
