1982 Manhattan Art
Anne Plumb opened her gallery on Greene St in Soho, first called Manhattan Art.
I was in a group show there. I was working on a new direction. I wanted to paint the landscape and it lurked beneath the surface of stripes for a while.
The paintings were reforming and shaping up. It's interesting that I went back to landscape instead of the abstraction that was looking good but I think I felt it was someone else's and that I really owned this landscape.
There was a show called Zeitgeist in Europe that was fueling ideas in America.
