1991 Singer of the Sun 2

I had been working on a figure for a long time. I never stopped figure drawing which I started in school and continued with Paul Georges in workshops he had through the years.

I have had an idea about a line of the figure drawing through Greek vase painting, through Raphael, to Ingres and to Manet and Picasso and Matisse. It is a classical line. I see something of it in the Disney figures and in Audobon's birds.

At the surface there is a system I use to try for a reality that is continuous.

Anyway this year of 1991 I worked for a figure I could stand behind and felt I found it here.
